RiskMeter.com Now Providing Pin Point Accuracy for its Natural Hazard Reports by Adding Parcel Level Geocoding

Boston, MA, February 2011 - CDS Business Mapping, LLC., a leader in online hazard mapping, today announced it has added a parcel level geocoding database to its RiskMeter Online service. This new feature will provide underwriters and agents with the best geocoding accuracy available, which is crucial when assessing and pricing risks, such as FEMA Flood Zones, Hurricane Storm Surge and Wildfire risk.

Although standard geocoding is fairly accurate, parcel level geocoding takes it one step further.  When an address is run through this database, it will place the address entered into the center of the parcel.  This is much more accurate than street level geocoding, which takes an address and approximates its location on a street segment.

“In the real-estate industry it’s all about location, location, location.  This is also   true when it comes to underwriting in the property & casualty insurance industry,” explains Dan Munson, Founder, RiskMeter Online. “A change of 100 feet in one direction can yield substantially different results when assessing FEMA Flood Zones, Storm Surge, Wildfire risk and Tax Codes.  With our new parcel level geocoding database, we can take the address entered and place it in the center of the parcel boundary.  Not only will this enhanced accuracy help with assessing and pricing risk, but it can also help to uncover niche markets other insurers won’t touch,” says Munson.

RiskMeter’s parcel level geocoding is now available for over 30 real-time, natural hazard risk reports and aerial photos.  This database is also available for use through our batch processing Web site (www.batch.riskmeter.com), so users can get parcel level geocoding accuracy for their schedules and book of business transfers.  For more information, please contact Dan Munson, Founder, RiskMeter Online at 617.737.4444 or Email
