For property insurers looking for accurate earthquake risk information, RiskMeter presents USQuickQuake AssessTM (USQQ-Assess). Specifically geared for underwriters, this tool provides the local site conditions, the name and the distance to the closest fault, identification of the controlling fault, and the resulting MMI at the site. USQQ-Assess also returns to the user AP zones and Landslide Zones.

PRODUCT COVERAGE: Continental United States

DATA SOURCE: USQuickQuake Assess is owned by our partner, EQECAT, Inc., the worldwide leader in providing state-of-the-art catastrophe risk management, information, software, and consulting services.

METHODOLOGY: USQuickQuake performs an analysis of the site. The analysis of the site considers all earthquake sources in the area and provides the name and distance to the closest fault and the controlling fault, if different. The MMI shaking intensity and magnitude for the specified return period is provided. The return period can be set to 100, 250 or 500 years. The analysis makes use of the latest information from the United States Geological Survey (USGS), both for earthquake source characteristics and for subsurface geology.

WHAT DATA IS INCLUDED: The data contains qualitative measures for local site conditions: Rock, Soft Rock, Stiff Soil, and Soft Soil. In addition, name and distance to the closest fault, identification of the controlling fault for the site based on the specified return period (100, 250 or 500 years) event and the resulting MMI at the site are also given. The MMI, the magnitude of the 500 year return period earthquake, and the distance to the controlling fault are provided.
