LET THE NOMINATIONS BEGIN: PROPERTY/CASUALTY INSURANCE MAGAZINE TO AWARD TRADITIONAL BEST WEB SITE HONOR INDIANAPOLIS
(Oct. 10, 2000)What are some of the best Web sites in the insurance industry?
An industry tradition continues as Property/ Casualty Insurance (P/C I) magazine searches for the best insurance-related Web sites. The flagship publication of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) is the first association periodical to honor all insurance and insurance- related Web sites, focusing on companies that have a high- quality, user- friendly public presence on the Internet.
This year's competition takes the contest one step further by adding new criteria such as increased functionality and user- friendly interactivity in finding the "Best of the Web."
"Insurance companies are integrating their Web presence into all other aspects of their operations - from PR to marketing to on-line sales of insurance," said Chuck Chamness, Vice President, Public Affairs and publisher of Property/ Casualty Insurance magazine. "The awards are intended to not only point to the industry's best, but also to recognize those that are using the medium to the benefit of their customers."
Laura Biddle- Bruckman, NAMIC's Director of Publications agrees, adding, "NAMIC saw a need to recognize those who are making a difference. Our judging process ensures that we are impartial."
Not only will insurance company sites will be eligible for recognition as "Best Insurance Site," there is also a category for a companies or organizations that serve the insurance industry.
"Best Insurance Site" certification will be based on the overall design of the site, the ease of navigation, whether the site contains current and relevant content and its level of functionality and interactivity to the user.
One "Best Insurance Site" award will be given in the following four categories: small, mid-size and large property/ casualty insurance companies as well as an award for a non-insurance company that serves the insurance industry.
Judging will take place in early November. A panel of insurance professionals from within the property/ casualty insurance industry will judge the sites.
The awards will be announced in the January/ February 2001 edition of Property/ Casualty Insurance magazine and at NAMIC Online. Award recipients will be highlighted in a series of stories appearing at NAMIC Online and in a wrap- up in the magazine. Honorees will receive an engraved memento, a year- long link from NAMIC Online, a graphic for the company's Web site and a news release announcing the award recipients. Two runners up in each category will also be announced. Runners up will receive a certificate, a graphic for the company's Web site and will be included in a news release announcing the award recipients.
